Skin-type routines

Routines built around your skin

Consistent routines work better than long ones. Each sequence is matched to dry, oily, combination, or reactive skin, with sensible layering and gradual introduction of actives.

Dry skin

Dry skin: barrier first

Morning: a gentle cream cleanser, a hydrating serum, then a rich moisturizer to seal. Evening: cleanse, apply a barrier-supporting cream, and skip harsh exfoliants.

Weekly: one gentle hydrating mask. Introduce any active slowly and watch how the skin feels over several days.

Oily skin

Oily skin: balance, not stripping

Morning: a light gel cleanser, a lightweight water-based serum, then an oil-free moisturizer. Evening: a second cleanse if you wore sunscreen or makeup, followed by a lightweight treatment.

Weekly: a clay or purifying mask once or twice, keeping the rest of the routine calm.

Combination skin

Combination skin: zone by zone

Morning: a balanced gel cleanser, a serum suited to both oily and dry areas, then a light moisturizer, adding richer cream only where the skin feels dry.

Evening: cleanse, layer a targeted treatment on the drier zones, and keep the T-zone simple. Weekly: a gentle exfoliant at most once.

Reactive skin

Reactive skin: fewer steps, slower changes

Morning: a mild, fragrance-free cleanser, a simple hydrating serum, then a calming moisturizer and daily sunscreen. Evening: keep to a short, familiar sequence.

Introduce one new product at a time, waiting a couple of weeks before adding another. If irritation persists, speak with a qualified professional.

Layering order

Apply from thinnest to thickest

Water-based products that are thinnest go on first, letting each layer absorb before the next. Richer creams close the routine, so the skin keeps what you applied.

1. Cleanse

Start with a clean base suited to your skin type.

2. Serum

Apply the thinnest, water-based layer to damp or dry skin.

3. Treatment

Add targeted products once the serum has absorbed.

4. Moisturize

Finish with the richest layer to seal in hydration.
